As the first flurries fall in the forest, our Speech Room Fairy is getting excited about our end of year festivities. Christmas is coming and there is so much yet to be done! Perhaps your students can help by writing a Christmas to-do list for our busy fairy friend. They can use the adorable fairy stationery set that she gifted us last month! Click here for your free printable.
For an extra special touch you may want to build your own mini pinecone Christmas tree. You will need a pinecone (picked from the yard) sized to rest easily inside of a mini terracotta pot (found inexpensively at your local craft store). Using a paintbrush, brush Elmer’s glue on some or all of the “branches” of your tree. Sprinkle on glitter, shake off excess, and let dry. You may even choose to affix a star on top or use small beads like I have to decorate your tiny tree.
The Speech Room fairy just loves Christmas! She thought the pine cone tree was great, but one tree is never enough! She wanted a ‘big’ tree, so I wrapped a polystyrene cone in green ribbon, fastening it as I wrapped using colorful pins. My fairy insists upon putting a star on top of her tree, so luckily I had a star topped pin to put on there for her! Here is the finished picture:
Only a few things left to check off of our list! A tiny felt stocking hanging from your fairy’s door invokes the holiday spirit:
and what is this…another gift from the Speech Room Fairy?
For all of your help getting her ready this year, our fairy friend had time to create a beautiful set of Christmas countdown cards to keep us on track this holiday season. Get your copy here to set outside the fairy’s door…the perfect addition to this festive scene!

It’s getting cold outside, and we are seeing a thin blanket of snow beginning to cover everything in sight. Simply sprinkle a bit of ordinary baking flour around your fairy’s door to bring some Winter magic into your Speech room! Here’s how I ‘captured’ the Speech Room Fairy’s ‘footprints’ in the snow:
A few lettered beads strung together to read ‘Merry Christmas’ can be hung around your fairy’s door to pass on her seasons greetings to all her friends. As you have probably figured out by now, we all love Christmas here at Speech Room Style – you can choose which of these ideas to use in your speech room, they can all be effective on their own!
